EmmentalEmmental is "the cheese with the holes," made popular by the Tom and Jerry cartoon and is known in the U. S. A. as "Swiss Cheese." This cheese has its own mildly, sweet flavour. It melts very easily, and so is a popular cheese for fondue and is wonderful melted onto grilled meat or vegetables. It goes beautifully with ham in a sandwich. Serve sliced in a sandwich, melted onto meat or boiled vegetables or just by itself. And don't throw away the rind.
